A Busy Day for a Home School Mom

This morning was rushed.  We said goodbye to Daddy as he left to spend the week in South Arkansas deer hunting.  Tears & tantrums followed, but that did not deter me from planning for our usual day of work & school.

It was pouring down rain as I loaded the babies into the car on a quest to pick up fresh eggs from a family in our home school group.  Once inside the car, Little Man began negotiations regarding visiting a certain toy store in our town, in exchange for good behavior.  I'm not usually a negotiator, but knowing that I had a few stops to make after retrieving the eggs, this sounded like a hum dinger of a deal to me!  So my "Mommy" answer was... "We'll see".

The plan for the day, was to purchase items intended to officially deem me a "crafty" Mama.  We arrived...gathered our necessities, ran across the parking lot in the rain, into one of our favorites stores, Hobby Hobby, or at least that's what the littles call it!  As I do at every store in this season of the year, I maneuver the shopping cart through the aisles carefully to avoid Halloween decorations in an attempt to put THAT conversation off as long as possible.  Today was a good day at Hobby Hobby, because we did not see one scary costume or anything that immediately caused us to avoid any area of the store.  (It may have been there, but we didn't see it! :)  We did, however, spend some extra time in the Thanksgiving and Christmas section touching and admiring aisle after aisle of Christmas trees, bells, ornaments, wreaths, and stockings!

After locating the items on our list and paying the bill, we decided on lunch at Western Sizzlin.  (The babies and I can eat a full lunch including drinks, breads, desserts for under $8!).  Matt likes to know the ingredients of every dish & side dish... "What are gween beans made fwum?"  (Nothing like good food conversation...)

Remembering Little Man's earlier promise of good behavior, I encouraged the kids to finish their lunch so we could travel across the street to Toys R Us.  Gobbling down the last of their mac-n-cheese, and having eaten two cookies each, we headed back out in the rain, with visions of bikes, baby dolls & dinosaurs sitting on lonely shelves anxiously awaiting us to come play!  With much laughter and giggles, we buckled up & hurried along!

Once back home and after nap time, we worked on our craft project.  Their little aprons turned out quite nice!  We cannot wait to use them as we prepare supper together!

Tonight, we'll put on our new aprons & rustle up some yummy supper!

All in a days work & school!  :)
